Client
Trafikstyrelsen & Banedanmark Anlægsudvikling
Location
Køge, Denmark

The new railway from Copenhagen to Ringsted is Denmark’s first high-speed rail link, enhancing connectivity between cities and improving commuter access to trains, highways, and stations. As part of the advisory consortium, PLH contributed to the design strategy and planning for key sections of the route, ensuring seamless integration with the surrounding urban and natural landscapes. A focal point of the project is Køge Nord Station – an essential transit hub where regional, high-speed, and S-trains intersect, enabling smooth transfers and efficient journeys. Strategically located by the motorway, the station provides commuters with a convenient park-and-ride option for effortless access to Copenhagen. PLH played a key role in developing station layouts, platform designs, parking facilities, and pedestrian connections while collaborating on innovative bridge solutions to enhance accessibility and passenger comfort. As a key part of Køge’s urban development plans, Køge Nord Station strengthens regional mobility and supports future growth.
