Summary

Function reimagined, history preserved

In the heart of Copenhagen, several office buildings were to be transformed into hotel apartments. Originally dating back to 1880 and 1881, the buildings had not only served as offices but had also previously housed grand apartments. With respect for its history, the function was reimagined and transformed, while the charm and uniqueness was carefully preserved.

Data collection as the foundation

A full 3D scan of the building provided an accurate starting point of the project, capturing all existing irregularities. This ensured optimal planning with sufficient space for both installations and structural solutions. Furthermore, the 3D scan also serves as a valuable digital resource for the building’s future operation and maintenance.

Hospitality at the center

Guests will experience an exclusive apartment hotel filled with historic charm. The hotel features 31 rooms, each with its own character and story. The rooms include kitchenettes and vary in size. The renovated windows provide calm and quiet in the midst of Nørreport’s vibrant center. Guests also have access to a shared rooftop terrace, where they can take a break and unwind. A newly designed courtyard extension offers additional rooms, including accessible rooms for guests with disabilities.
