Summary

Hub for work, culture, and community

Nykredit’s headquarters strengthens the organization’s identity while opening up towards the city. With activity-based work zones, inviting social spaces, and public-facing functions, the building supports well-being, collaboration and community engagement in a rapidly developing neighborhood.

A flagship HQ for a future-facing bank

Nykredit needed a new headquarters to reflect its position as a modern, responsible financial institution – and to bring together employees from three previous locations under one roof. The new building had to promote collaboration, flexibility and a strong sense of belonging, both internally and externally.

Architecture that inspires openness and meaning

PLH’s solution builds on the idea that the modern workplace is more than an office – it is a place of culture, exchange and connection. Strategic zoning, generous shared spaces, and integrated artworks create both clarity and character, supporting a variety of work modes and welcoming the public into selected areas.

A light-filled structure that bridges city, harbor and people

The six-story headquarters is organized as a comb-shaped structure with a unifying atrium at its heart. Work zones are designed for adaptability and focus, while balconies, cafés and quiet areas provide inspiration and pause. A public café and flexible salons open up to the waterfront and neighboring park, anchoring the building in its urban context.

Architectural details, art and materials draw from the local harbor, cityscape and natural surroundings, creating a headquarters with strong cultural and sensory presence.
