Retail revival in the heart of Copenhagen
Gallery K
Gallery K is a carefully designed renovation of the former Cityarkaden in central Copenhagen, transforming it into a vibrant, high-street retail destination. Inspired by the classical shopping arcades of the 1900s, the project restores historical architectural features while introducing modern elements like a glass-covered atrium and custom-designed bronze entry doors. By reopening the old Citygade street and adding a new plaza and café, the project reintegrates the space into the city life.
Approximately 10,000 m² of retail space across two levels supports around 30 tenants, with 500 m² underground parking.
Two prominent 7.5-meter-high bronze doors frame the entry portal to the gallery.
The restoration of original facades, based on historic photographs, enhances the area's architectural heritage and character.
