A respectful renovation rooted in history
Cirkel-Ordenen
The historic property from 1902 forms the setting for this project, where a comprehensive renovation has aimed to unite past and present. The building houses the lodge Cirkel-Ordenen – an institution with its own unique history and identity – and this historic narrative has been the central element of the project. The ambition has been to create an experience in which the history of the place is not only preserved but felt and sensed from the very moment one steps inside the building.

Introduction

03
A comprehensive full renovation and interior design
Cirkel-Ordenen is housed in a historic property in Frederiksberg, where the building accommodates both the lodge’s own activities and is rented out for events such as receptions, confirmations, and weddings. The project consists of a comprehensive full renovation and interior design of the lodge’s premises, including Denmark’s oldest bowling alley, as well as the balcony and stairwells, where lighting, selection of furnishings, and custom-built elements have also been part of the overall design.
Focus on craftsmanship, detail, and quality
Craftsmanship has been a central part of Cirkel-Ordenen’s identity since its founding. Therefore, the renovation has been driven by high ambitions for both execution and detailing. Each solution has been developed with respect to the building’s history and with a consistent focus on materials and quality.
Respect for history from floor to ceiling
The renovation has been carried out with a holistic approach, where quality, elegance, and respect for the existing architecture are reflected in every room. Floors and doors have been replaced, wood paneling has been carefully restored, stucco has been added where it was missing, and selected areas have been enhanced with new layers in the form of exclusive leather finishes. A carefully developed color concept supports the building’s historic character and creates a cohesive atmosphere. In addition, the balcony and the historic bowling alley have also been renovated.
