Copenhagen’s new psychiatric hospital is now in use
We have handed over the new psychiatric hospital for Capital Region of Denmark, which has already been taken into use. We are proud to have designed modern and healing surroundings for people at their most vulnerable moments.

We delivered the first phase of the project back in 2022, and now the full Ny Psykiatri Bispebjerg has been completed, providing calm, bright and flexible settings for psychiatric patients, healthcare professionals and relatives alike.
The buildings were designed in close dialogue with patients, relatives and staff to support treatment, well-being and healing.
Bright spaces, flexible layouts and residential elements create opportunities for both community and privacy, adapted to different everyday needs. The 200 single-patient rooms are designed with bay windows and views of green surroundings, while sensory courtyards and activity facilities support calmness, activity and well-being.
“We are proud to deliver flexible surroundings that support coherent and patient-centred treatment. The open, welcoming and stimulating environment at the new psychiatric hospital promotes healing and creates a safe setting for everyone spending time here,” says Lars Toksvig, partner and leading architect on the project.
The project was developed in collaboration with Friis & Moltke, LYTT Architecture and Søren Jensen.
Congratulations to The Capital Region of Denmark on the new facilities – an important project we are proud to have contributed to.
