Located in the Copenhagen suburb of Rødovre, Town Hall Gardens is a seven story residential project comprised of 211 apartments varying in size from 65-130 m2. The design concept relies heavily on optimizing daylight and views to the surroundings. The building is terraced from the top floor and down on its southwest corner, exposing it to sunlight on the south and west and providing the majority of apartment units with excellent views to the greens of the town hall gardens. Green terraces and roof gardens, as well as niches and alcoves on the southwest, add contour and variety to the building profile, and recessed balconies provide relief and texture in the facades.

Visions for urban landscape

The residential project represents one element in Rødovre’s masterplan for revitalization of its urban landscape. The vision is to inject the city centre with life by creating urban spaces with higher experiential value. With its attractive location close to recreational areas, institutions and shopping, and the future connection to the Copenhagen metro, Rødovre has immense development potential waiting to be exploited.

The new residential building supports the masterplan for the city by creating a new pedestrian thoroughfare with a coherent series of urban spaces to connect the Enggård quarter with the city centre.
