Scandinavian inspired design
For PLH’s design team, it has been important to focus on a welcoming, Scandinavian inspired design that aligns Pharmacosmos new UK office with the company’s strong Danish roots. “Personal and unique,” is how Cecilie Starup, Senior Project Leader and Architect, describes the project, “Nothing is left to chance – all design decisions have been taken seriously by the client.”

Meeting point

Patient stories are integrated in the daily experience of the office, and team spirit is very important. Here, the Danish culture of dining together is given a special place in the new office, with its informal collaboration lounge, complete with cafe, long team table and terraced seating. This space is the first area you meet on arrival to the office and functions as a meeting point throughout the day for specialists in the field and those concentrating on projects in the office base.

Light and professional with an edge

The light, Scandinavian approach with a subtle mix of natural tones, and edgy accents, presents the buildings raw, industrial potential in a modern, homely atmosphere. It is a unique office in the Reading region, where it is located, and has the quality and integrity representative of Pharmacosmos as a significant company addressing the critical area of iron deficiency.

“We aspire to develop a workspace that on its own ignites desire and ambition to improve care for people living with iron deficiency. A workspace created in the belief that its design and functionality is an extension of our company: our aspiration, our values and our culture.”

Andreas Sidelmann Christensen, managing director UK/IE Pharmacosmos
