Njalgaarden at Islands Brygge. The 21,000 m2 building complex functions as the headquarters for the Technical and Environmental Administration of the City of Copenhagen.
The holistic design solution in particular emphasizes a consistently high quality and functionality standard creating a rich working environment. In addition, the broad focus on environmentally sustainable design addresses both technical and social initiatives.
Der etableres en grøn taghave med adgang fra bygningens tre fløje. Receptionens store ovenlys har samme udtryk som vindfanget og fungerer som rumskaber og skulptur i taghavens rum. Bygningens tag anvendes af et solcelle-laug, og solcellepanelerne indgår i udformningen af taglandskabet.
Første prioritet i husets energidesign er begrænsning af elforbruget. Det er opnået ved at lave åbne rumforløb i de dybe bygningskroppe, så der skabes gennemlyste rum og lyset trækkes så langt ind i bygningen som muligt. Den kunstige belysning styres af bevægelses- og lyssensorer, så forbruget minimeres. Til belysning af plancheudstillinger og modeller anvendes LED spots.
