PLH has designed an innovation centre, located in A. P. Møller-Maersk’s head office in Copenhagen. For PLH the task included concept development, design and implementation of a new environment for innovation.
The space supports the identity and strategy of Maersk by establishing an inspiring and dynamic work environment with flexible and agile methods of working. An environment, which through development and creativity facilitates the creation of new digital products. The different zones in the office layout inspire for innovation, contemplation, informal meetings, relaxation, and reading – or just for working in new surroundings. The zones include working hubs, flex spaces, telephone rooms, relaxation areas, quiet zones, lounges, cafés, and an interior garden. The innovation centre will also attract new talent by establishing an informal company culture and modern ways of working.
The Innovation Centre was developed when a department was relocated and a complete floor made available in the iconic headquarters at Esplanaden in Copenhagen. PLH Arkitekter was hired to analyse, reinterpret and redesign the existing spaces.
